Violent Green
« on: May 01, 2009, 02:04:02 PM »
One year ago yesterday, Mark Adams flew from this earth.

Quote
Paradise is our natural condition. This is the good news.
Our condition is unnatural. This is the bad news.

Love cannot bear that even one soul be denied its place in paradise. This is even better news.
But, we cannot bear love. This is terrible news.

Paradise is always available. This is more good news.
But, we are not always available to paradise. This is more bad news.

Firstly, we are in paradise.

Secondly, we fall from paradise.

Thirdly, we recognize that we have fallen from paradise.

Fourthly, we acknowledge our fall.

Fifthly, we address the journey that is our returning to Paradise, our becoming more fully who & what we are, which enables us to bear the world of the Real.

There is more good news: help is waiting for us. Actually, help has always been with us, but we were not able to accept Help. This is a condition of the Fall.

Paradise regained, for those prepared to persist in reclaiming what is (in a proper world) a natural state, is to know Paradise as if for the first time.

And, when we find ourselves once more in Paradise, we may find Paradise itself only a beginning.

Wow, it does not seem to be even close to a year since this happened...

RIP Mark.

I was away from the boards when Mark died and only found out a couple of months later when KevShmev emailed me.  Mark was an amazing person, with a wit and intellect that is seldom seen.  His presence on these boards is sorely missed.  RIP...

I miss him.
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

I played "Afraid of Sunlight" in his honor last night. I miss him.

I know we weren't fond of each other while he was alive, but he will be missed.

Totally had the wrong idea about Christianity, but he'll be missed.
Now that Obama has closed Gitmo, when will he turn his attention to the abuses and torturing of the onions that are used to make the angry whopper?

He was probably the most important internet contact I've ever had. I've listened to the whole of Misplaced Childhood more times than I can count, and I cannot not think of him when I do. I don't even bother reading the forums much anymore b/c he's not around..... :(

Rest in peace, Mark. I didn't have a personal relationship with him, but he seems to have had such an influence on so many people in the DTF 5/8 community. Such a shame what happened.

I can't believe it's been a year... I remember when I found out, I didn't really know him, but after reading everyone's remembrances I learned he was an important member of the board.

RIP  Mark
