Just got back from the Red Rocks show and  :D :omg: :hefdaddy

This was really a treat since I haven't seen them in 9 years or so.

A short set, but an awesome one. I especially loved getting to hear most of my favorite stuff from Aenima (Third Eye, Stinkfist, Aenema)... oh, and Flood.

Our seats were about halfway up and almost in the center so we had a good view of the stage (except for that damn tall guy) and a great view of the scenery as well. It was awesome to see all of the lights against the sky/stars... and we saw the most incredible giant orange moon rise up above the city during Right in Two/Schism. Really amazing.

So yeah, wish the set had been a bit longer (MJK said two hours but it was only an hour and 50 minutes :P) but a lot of fun and totally worth the pain in the ass of having to find tickets on eBay, etc.
Oh Jackie, always jumping to the most homoerotic possibility.

I'm really tempted to ask you the setlist, but I hate to ruin it for myself. I must ask you just one question: Was 10,000 Days on the setlist?

Either way, I'm so fucking excited to see these guys for the first time in a couple of weeks. It shall be most glorious.

I'd also like to add, I did a good 5 hours of yard work today to help pay off my ticket. I still have about 13 hours left before it's completely paid off.

I just saw these guys last night. The show was outstandingly phenomenal. Makes me wish I could have seen them on ANY of their earlier shows, because I have clearly been missing out over the years of listening to Tool.

I also got one of the 400 venue specific posters being sold at the show (I got in line 2 hours before the doors even opened):

The only downfall of buying the poster was trying to keep it safe all night. That wasn't easy. And some prick stepped on it during Tool, and there is a faded foot print which is only visible when looked for it.

Going this week. First time seeing TOOL since the Ozzfest appearance that had Megadeth, Tool and Ozzy on the main stage. I think that was 1998. Can't wait.

That year and 1999 were the two best Ozzfests by far

I don't think they're coming here on this tour, because it was just a mini-tour. I'd love to be proven wrong though.

The annoying thing is I can only really hope to see them when they tour for the next album, so loads of songs from that will mean less old classics which I need to see. HNNNG.

Jackie, I just took a look at the setlist you got, and compared to the setlist we got I'm just slightly jealous you got Intension followed by Right in Two. Don't get me wrong, I love that we got The Patient and Intolerance, but Right in Two has one of the coolest drum sections ever.

Intolerance was great yes. Here, you know what we'll do? We shall go back in time, and force Maynard to change the two sets around a bit.

Actually..scratch that idea. He might just cancel the entire tour altogether if someone were to suggest he did something different.

Tool are the one band for me where I'm not really interested in bootlegs. Call me a fanboy (because I certainly am...) but I do think, despite the production in all of the albums except 10,000 Days, I wouldn't change the studio versions in any way. They just feel too much like a studio band to me, in the same way that PT do, and I feel like something would be lost live. Pushit off of Salival is the only time I've even remotely reconsidered this.

Oh no, seeing them live would probably be one of the best experiences of my life, it's just listening to it afterwards might be disappointing. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure seeing Tool or PT live would be unimaginably awesome, but live recordings, let alone of shows I hadn't been to, don't interest me too much.

Oooooohhh, I see what you're saying now. I'd LOVE to see Tool live. I can't imagine them skipping over the New York/New Jersey/Connecticut area on the next United States tour.
