Has anyone seen this show? I sadly missed the last one, but I saw the series premiere.

Best. Cartoon show. EVER.

The humor in it is absolutely fantastic. I usually don't laugh at cartoons most of the time, but this had me in hysterics.

I remember seeing the original short several years ago. So awesome. I keep forgetting to watch the series when it's on. I think it's about time I caught up on that.

Watched both episodes, absolutely brilliant show. Up there with Chowder and The Misadventures of Flapjack.

I'm all about randomness, but that wasn't funny. I watched like 2 minutes of it and was like...

That kid is so annoying.

Rocko beats all, I agree with Guitarded. Nickelodeon has totally faded out of the golden age of cartoons. Rocko was the best, followed by Doug and the OLD Rugrats episodes (with all the adult jokes in them), and Ren and Stimpy.

Even Cartoon Network shows have gotten stale. I miss Dexter's Labratory, Johnny Bravo, Powerpuff Girls... even Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends is gone.

I forgot to post here a few days ago, but last Monday's episode was hilarious. This is one of my new favorite shows.

I love how the cartoon is also partly a parody of regular children's cartoons, but with a very dry, awesome sense of humor.

Honestly, I don't think people here are giving this show the attention that it deserves. I'm sure most, if not all of you, would appreciate it at least a little. It is simply the best show on television. I want to buy the episodes that have been released so far on iTunes, but I think I'll wait to see if they release it in HD when the season finishes.

Also, the new episode from this past monday was amazing.

I agree with all of this, but I would also say OLD Doug, before ABC/Disney ruined that show too.

Was fucking incredible. I loved every second. I didn't even laugh all that much, but when I did my sides nearly split. I really like the style of the show; but it did remind me of that one insane jail show, the name escapes me, just with more of a tangible theme as opposed to things being overly random. Though the randomness of this show is still ridiculous, but it works.

Yeah, I was thinking just that, but I obviously have yet to check it out. I will though, to be sure. I just hope that it doesn't take itself too seriously; this style of having a laid back feel, if that makes any sense, does wonders for the show. Is it on the normal line-up of CN or does it air on Adult Swim?

It's on cartoon network every monday at 8 EST.

And yeah, the cartoon is pretty much in this same style. More epic things happen though, but it stays light hearted and silly.

A lot of the content in this show may make it seem the same as most cartoons nowadays, but there's plenty of moments of brilliant self-awareness, surreal absurdity, lampshade hanging and sometimes even giving off the feeling I'm watching one of the tamer Adult Swim shows that pushes this show past them and into the awesome territory.

It kills me to see so many people on this forum just brushing off this show as as a dumb cartoon, but it is honestly one of the most awesome and creative shows of our time. People just think that nothing can possibly top their favorite cartoons of the past, but Adventure Time deserves that chance.
