He also seems to be genuinely enjoying himself, too, for the first time in, well... ever.

Pretty stoked about it, myself.

Looks like Austin and Tulsa are sold out.  Glad to see high interest in this.  Houston still has a ton of seats available, including front section seats (saw front row yesterday).  It would appear that once is enough for most people, particularly given the increased price the second time around.

Looking at the charts for the stadium shows, and that looks pretty cool.  I'd certainly pay to see this at Fenway Park.

Amazing comes short of describing the show I saw last night. I loved every minute.
A standard in bringing a concept to life that has surpassed any I've seen before, closest contenders being SFAM, Operation Mindcrime and American Idiot.
I won't say much cause I spoke to people there who saw the show on 2010 and they said there was several minor changes so I don't wanna spoil anything.
Little spoiler: One of the changes is a new song, actually an acoustic rendition of ABITW with new lyrics in the verses.
When they had the Wall just continually displaying pictures of people killed in wars and political oppression during the intermission, it was great to see Sophie Scholl and Khaled Saeed pictures among others.
The show was worth every penny.

The second go-around was really something else.  The first time I saw the show in '10, I was pretty far back and it was really just watching everything happen on and with the wall, while hearing the music.  My interest in the great seats this time was to get a more immersive experience with the wall; sort of like an Imax screen.  Turns out the band and performance were far more entertaining.  In retrospect, it's really two different productions, depending on where you're sitting.  Unfortunately, ticket cost will prevent most people from seeing it twice, but if anybody actually has the means and opportunity, I can't recommend it highly enough.

There were a few changes this time around, but mostly small.  Interestingly, the one change that I felt made the most difference was that the uniforms for the surrogate band and honor guard are changed.  They're a whole lot more menacing now.

He also seems to be genuinely enjoying himself, too, for the first time in, well... ever.

I disagree. When I saw him for the first time solo during the 1999 In The Flesh tour in Wantagh NY, when he stepped out on stage during the song "In The Flesh" to begin the show, there was a happy, but humbled smile on his face, one that was projected a very appreciative sentiment to the crowd. I think that the 1999/2000 tour finally found him in a place that he could go out and feel comfortable as a solo artist without having to fight off the shadow that his time in Floyd seemed to have cast across his post-Floyd years up until that point.

My only complaint is that his sets of the ITF tour and the subsequent DSoTM tour featured too much Floyd and not enough of his solo material. Obvioulsy The Wall is what it is (and I was glad there was nothing else played, as it would have diluted the whole experience of seeing The Wall performed live). But I would pay for a show if he did something like play the entire Amused To Death album, some other solo stuff and only a handful of Floyd tracks.

o.O You do know thats her job right? And you also know that what you're doing isn't allowed?

This is the first time I've ever seen any security actually tell someone to stop smoking pot at any show I've been to. And it's Roger Waters, honestly the whole venue was a haze.  Sure, it isn't allowed. But so isn't photography and I rarely see security bother with people taking photos on their cell phones either.

Photography is allowed, professional photography is not. I have seen several people with monster cameras turned away. As for it being a haze... possibly the massive pyrotechnics and fog machines had something to do with it...

Agreed.  Amused to Death is undoubtedly the crowning achievement of his solo career, yet he only played one song from it on that tour (Perfect Sense).  That whole album needed to be played live at some point.  The entire Amused to Death section on the In the Flesh DVD is one of my favorite half hour sections of any live DVD ever.  That live version of It's a Miracle is simply majestic. :hefdaddy :hefdaddy

Agreed on all counts. And if you got to see him live on the 1999 leg of the In The Flesh tour, you also got "What God Wants" in the setlist.

I have to say that this was the greatest damned show I have ever seen! This was the view from our seat.

I will admit... The highlight of the night was In The Flesh... So amazing!
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

Confortably Nimb was the highlight for me, when the wall shatters in color, fucking amazing.

And I have a serious conflict of interest with The Wall being played in the home of USC football, wrong, just wrong.

Well it is the location of the original LA shows back in 1980.

C Numb didn't do it for me oddly... (if it would have been Gilmour, I would have bawled like a baby)

The releasing of the goddamned pig during In The Flesh brought a tear to my eye.

I had seen the pig back in '89.  The visuals after Water's hit the wall in Comfortably Numb though, blown away.  The whole show was so fucking good, easily in my top five, and easily no. 1 visually.

I think this will be as enjoyable as the first time, every time. Tell us if you noticed things you didn't notice in your first concert.

You guys know about the incident with the flying pig in London upon the release of Animals?

So I am in Philly with my gf visiting her mom and step dad  (who drove from Columbus)... all to see this show (again for us :D )

Turns out her step dad is a HUGE Roger Waters fan... Tomorrow is going to freaking rock!

Didn't get a chance to see this live (saw a bunch of vids of it on YT though) so I am DEFINITELY interested in a DVD/BluRay of it for sure.

Unfortunately, it really doesn't translate well to video.  You can show the concert just fine, but the impact is lost without the enormity of scale.  Impractical to build a 60' wall across your living room, and without the immersion it's not quite the same.

That said, it's still absolutely worth seeing, even if you can't take in the entire spectacle.

Well, I'm sure that BluRay quality + widescreen HDTV may help to bridge that gap.  I completely understand that you'd have to see something of that scale in person, though, but a DVD/BluRay would definitely have to be the next best thing for those of us who - for whatever reason - were unable to see it live.

Yeah, I think that with a lot of technology you can get closer, but there's still something that you will miss. An exzample would be that when In the flesh ends you have all this plane sounds that were so perfec live I would look for planes in the sky even though I knew there were none, but it was son real.

Roger Waters' The Wall.....in 3-D!
Actually, that might not be such a bad idea.  If they kept the cheese out of it, it could provide a good deal of the immersion that would otherwise be lost.  They don't need anything (well one thing) jumping out of the screen at you, but using it to put you on the 10th row would be pretty nifty.

Did they develop a 3D technology that doesn't require you to wear glasses for them? Cause I wouldn't be interested in a 3D release.

There are some Tvs that have that technology as well as the Nintendo 3DS
