Holy crap, everything I could've ever even thought of mentioning has already been mentioned at some point or another.  :c
That's awesome.

Bands that probably've been mentioned, but I can't remember:

The Evpatorial Report
Ambiente
The Burning Paris
Constants
iLiKETRAiNS
Jakob
July Skies
Pertegò
Jesu
Toboggan
Jääportit
Magyar Posse
Tomán
When Day Descends (whom also hold the title for longest track I own at 38:04)

The GY!BE gig in my home town got sold out before I could snatch a ticket...
Feel my pain.  :'(

On a related note, I've recently been getting into God Is An Astronaut, and these guys rule! Must get their new album now...

I do, I do feel your pain.  :(
('cept it'll be with Mogwai.)

and yay!  God is an Astronaut is one of my staple post-rock bands.

So I decided to step out of my musical boundary a tad today and picked one of these suggested bands at random, and looked up some of their stuff. I chose Destroyalldreamers, one of the bands Kari posted on page one. This is...different no doubt. But different enough to where it's interesting. Interesting enough to where I wish to further pursue a deeper look into this sub-genre. I'm currently listening to a song titled "Wish I Was All Flames" by Destroyalldreamers. It's very spacey, atmospheric but has a really cool and laid back vibe.

I am really enjoying this.
I felt its length in quite a few places.

Crippled Black Phoenix - I, Vigilante [2010]

Has anyone heard this album? It's probably in my top 5 albums of 2010. Maybe even top two!  It's sort of post-rock but with vibes of Pink Floyd, ambient and indie.
Quote
Crippled Black Phoenix is a band from the United Kingdom, formed in 2004. The band has described their own songs as "end time ballads". And it constantly and legitimately refuses being tagged as "post-rock" or "indie-folk".

"Born from a blizzard of horned cats, Crippled Black Phoenix bring you a twisted cinematic experience, handcrafted by a mercenary crew of underground heavyweights, giving depth and gravity to regal songs about love, loss, tragedies and redemption."
