If you would use proper grammar and spelling at all times, it would already be in your brain that that is what you do. You will not have to consciously think about using good grammar or spelling anymore.  This will save you a lot of time not having to go over your essays countless times to make sure they are right.

It sounds like you left these lines in rough draft form, while revising the rest. Somehow a bit unrefined.
