I think they've gotten better with every album, though Funeral was excellent to begin with.

Bump because Arcade Fire is awesome and I finally got to vote Funeral being better than Neon Bible but both are awesome which means I have heard both albums already cool.

I have The Suburbs now. Haven't heard it yet. It's a boring Sunday so I might put it on later or tomorrow.

I know it'll be a huge grower, but all the same, after my first listen of Neon Bible: eh, pretty good.

The Suburbs are on now. It sounds really good too.
Quote
The band pressed each completed song to a 12" lacquer, then recorded it back for the digital master of the album.[11] As a result, the CD and digital versions of the album sound the same as the vinyl
I find that interesting.

So far, I like it more than Neon Bible.

"Deep Blue" is still one of those great sleeper songs that seems to rarely get talked about.  Love that tune. :coolio

They only have 3 worthwhile albums, go with Funeral. Their latest album, The Suburbs, I really like. IMO it rivals with Funeral. The new album won a grammy.
I started right from the start, out of my freewill, with their 2003 s/t EP. Hell, that's even some good stuff. Everyone will tell you to go with Funeral though.

I started with the suburbs and loved it. It took a couple of listens though.

Funeral is my favourite out of the three but you can't go wrong with any of their their three albums.
"Once he had forests and mountains that were only his - listening to him. Once he would run through the summer days catching memories for ages to come. Now he is dressing this naked floor with his flesh and blood, and time passes by. His trade of pain might just have lead him to deal with consequence for some change as time passes by"

Yeah, I started with The Suburbs and still find it to be their best.  Their discog isn't exactly huge though, so you might as well get it all.

Been spinning The Suburbs 3-4 times the last 3 days, and this album is fantastic.
Not a single bad song on it.

Empty Room  :heart
I imagined the story to go more like this.

I was sitting a traffic light blaring Space Dye Vest and next to me in another car was Kevin Moore. And I'll never be open again.

"Sprawl II" appears to be their standard encore closer this year, while "Wake Up" is often the regular set closer.  Both worked great in those spots.  The entire crowd doing the big chorus harmonies in "Wake Up" was amazing.  And I was thrilled that not only were my four favorite songs played (which was predictable, as they always play all of them), but two of them were the last two songs on the whole concert ("Intervention" and "Rebellion (Lies)" being the other two songs).  Awesome. :)

I am still a tad bummed that "Half Light II" wasn't played, but they abandoned that song in the live shows last year for whatever reason, so I wasn't expecting to hear it anyway. :(
