It's possible I'm the biggest LoB fanboi here, so I'm very much looking forward to it.  Their output has been top notch, if uninspired/samey over the past couple of releases.  Still very good stuff in my ears though.

Will do! I'm a new fan after being sent them in my roulette last year, so checked out all the albums together. The last two were pretty good but I didn't find them nearly as strong as the two before.

Just gave the new Vltimas album, Epic a listen.  This is the project with Flo from Cryptopsy, David Vincent from Morbid Angel, and Blasphemer, former guitarist in Mayhem.

I thought the first album was pretty decent, but one listen into Epic, and I am liking this one a good bit more.  Lots of interesting dissonant guitar riffs, and I've always loved Flo's drumming.

Today/This Week

The Kind City - This

I was able to buy a special Sleepytime Gorilla Museum show advance CDR for this album, the debut record from Minnesota-based quirky ArtRock band which features members of Run at the Dog and Bubblemath among others.

Released this Friday:

Kalandra - The State of the World

I know I'm one of the only guys who's posting about this band around here but I can't help it, I think they're fantastic. The message of this song in particular strikes so close to my heart I feel I should share it.
This first band is Soen very cool swingy jazz fusion kinda stuff.

I'd say it's scandinavian folk rock. Think acoustic, with strings, female-fronted.

Yeah... very nice.  It's got an Anneke Van Giersbergen vibe to it - vocally and musically.

That one's quite nice, I didn't have it on my release list, so I'll have to get to it soon.

It appears that for some reason it only supports one layer of quotation unless you stack them manually.  Are the admins aware of this bug?

Can't seem to find any information about an album release date in a couple minutes of skimming.  Evermind, do you know any more on this?

I noticed the same thing about quoting...

Based on the Bandcamp page, there have been a couple of single releases, but not obvious there is an album coming

https://kalandra.bandcamp.com/

Incidentally, the song Bardaginn is something too...

I watched a couple of interviews where they said they were working on it, but they've been pretty tight-lipped about it.

The Absence - The Absence

Based on the previous album I'm not yet sold on the new guy replacing their prior duo pairings, but I'm still absolutely going to check it out.
