Regarding Eva:

The whole time loop idea is something pretty unique to just RoE. For NGE, it was never intended to have any time loop or any of that. EoE is when Shinji rejects instrumentality, and accepts life for what it is. I think in RoE they added all the time loop stuff to keep long time fans interested in the movies.

Well yeah, I meant "Now that RoE is part of it". I think even without that aspect, RoE is worth seeing. That scene with Unit 04 in the second film...*shiver*
I really hope they hurry up with 3.0, it was supposed to be out last summer. I wonder if they still plan on releasing 3.0 and 4.0 at the same time.

I just skimmed through your anime list, Genowyn, and noticed that (Requiem For The) Phantom is missing. Haven't you seen it yet? If so, I'd like to recommend it to you (if you have time to watch it anytime soon).
... And you ask me: "Where's my hairspray?"

This one? https://myanimelist.net/anime/5682/Phantom:_Requiem_for_the_Phantom

Seems interesting. I have a pretty massive backlog of stuff to watch (if you check out my 'Plan to Watch' section, you'll see...and that's not even a comprehensive list  :lol) but I'll check it out.

I've found out if you like seeing how many times a series can point out that a character or characters have enormous boobs AND you like giant robots, then Gurren Lagan is your kind of show.

Obviously. This is Gainax gleefully reconstructing a genre they brutally deconstructed. If they were doing this to a human instead of an anime genre they would all be in prison.

Gurren Lagann is like Dragonball Z, only with giant mechs, copious amounts of crack, and it has the good sense to end and not bring all the dead characters back to life.  And its good.  Genowyn, what did you mean about Gainax deconstructing giant mecha anime?

Seriously, as big as things could possibly get, especially in the second half, the next episode is guaranteed to get even bigger and more ridiculous.*  :lol It was so much fun and very engaging.  JUST WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK I AM?

*Like the second-to-last episode, I think it was, where the anti-spiral throws THE BIG BANG at Intergalactic Gurren Lagann.  I mean...WAT? :lol

Shit man, why did you not tell me back then that this was written by Urobuchi Gen? I would have started watching it a lot sooner  :lol

I recommend you check out Puella Magi Madoka Magica, another anime written by the same guy which is totally awesome.

Ao no Exorcist is amazing. There are only four or five episodes that have been aired so far, but I really like the setup of this anime. Looks very promising, I wonder where it is going.

Darker Than Black is on Netflix, I think, and Darker than Black kicks ass.

I'm enjoying AoEx as well. Other good shows to check out this season are Steins;gate, AnoHana, and Deadman Wonderland.

If you've yet to start Deadman Wonderland I would honestly recommend waiting until it comes out on DVD/Bluray, simply because the TV show is censored into incomprehensibility at times.

i was just thinking about this and the thing that kind of bothered me about NGE was that the green-eyed, red-haired, white and strait from Germany girl was still named Asuka Soryu.

Japanese mother or father i can't remember
I imagined the story to go more like this.

I was sitting a traffic light blaring Space Dye Vest and next to me in another car was Kevin Moore. And I'll never be open again.

I really can't stand Hidan no Aria. The only thing that makes it tolerable for me is the hilarious trollsubs.

I recommend using UTW instead of GG then. GG is notorious for their trollsubs (like the Vagina Bones line in Yumekui Merry). Obviously, if they really like a show they will sub it properly, but Hidan no Aria is just so cliched and ridiculous (IMO) that the only things that make it interesting are comedy subs with great lines like "Don't you know? French people can't into H!"
