I just re-watched Love Hina for the first time is a couple of years and I still love it. It really has this magical vibe going on, and it makes me laugh as hell.

After watching Jupiter Jazz Pt.1, I remember how awesome Cowboy Bebop is  :metal

I haven't seen much love hina, but I've been watching Akamatsu's other anime Negima.  I'm really enjoying it.

Hello Gentlemen.
I've come to take your lives.
Actually, mainly I just can't not post in an anime thread. So let's get various balls a-rolling.

Not exactly anime but I've been reading Yotsubato! and Knightmare of Nunally recently. Both of them are great. Yotsubato! is all the great of Azumanga Daioh plus an amusing loli, which is always good.

Also, I've been watching Darker Than Black at a friend's insistence, it's pretty cool. Baccano! is on temporary hold as I started watching it with a friend like a fool, and I don't want to have to rewatch it so I'm waiting for him to come over and catch up. Sorry Faemir. Blame the guy above me. :neverusethis:

Also, we need to actually discuss things in this thread. Seems like all we do is update eachother and ask for recommendations. LET'S DISCUSS SOMETHING!

Death Note or Code Geass?

I say Geass.

Death Note has a lot of chess references. Code Geass has actual Chess. Point: Geass
Death Note has L. Code Geass has... Lots of people. Point: Death Note
Death Note has Near/Mello: 10 points deducted.

This is the universal rating system. Unfortunately DN already lost 10 points, and I don't feel like listing 10 more points in its favor, sooo. Code Geass is the obvious winner.
Plus all the chicks in Death Note have emotions, and that's lame.

I don't watch a lot of anime, but when I do find a show, I make sure to watch all of it.  Having seen both Geass and Death Note, I'm giving my vote to Death Note.  I don't even mind the Near/Mello half of the story as much as most people do (though L > everyone).  Everything about Death Note captivated me as soon as I saw the first episode on Adult Swim when it was just starting out.  Code Geass took a little time.

So I finished Baccano!, it was quite good. I still have the three DVD only episodes to watch.

Other than that, I'm also watching Darker than Black, Toradora!, and Mnemosyne. Toradora! is receiving the bulk of my attention.

Keeping track of anime DVD releases is so confusing. Whenever I want to purchase a series or movie, there are like 10 different versions of the same show, but one has poor subbing, or another is a unlicensed copy or some shit. And the FLCL dvds are too damn expensive!

I've been watching Durarara!! recently, it's really good. Written by the same dude as Baccano! and being simulcasted by Crunchyroll (though I prefer gg was still doing it). I highly recommend to everyone, especially if they liked Baccano!.

The film? I enjoyed it certainly, though i've seen far better, not to mention the series being better than the movie.

So I'm in the process of rewatching Witch Hunter Robin, and I just restarted Ergo Proxy, which I got halfway through and then stopped watching last year. Shuko Murase really, REALLY needs to direct more stuff.

Seriously, everyone needs to watch Durarara!! if they're not already watching it. It and FMA Brotherhood are easily the best shows on right now.

FMA Brotherhood
Aside from the fact that it definitely does follow the source material much closer than the original show, after seeing a couple of episodes of Brotherhood, I can easily say I prefer the original anime.
I felt its length in quite a few places.

I keep hearing this, and all I can say is fail. Of course you like the original better from the first few episodes, since it's the same material (but compressed in Brotherhood). You have to wait until it starts getting different. I guarantee you that everyone says the exact same thing. Everyone.
*First few episodes* Meh, this is alright. I definitely prefer the original
*Where it first starts to branch out* Well, this is pretty cool. Still prefer the original

Yeah, 'cause I follow the manga, I knew what was coming up, and it gets even more epic than it is right now ;D (I think the manga is going to end very soon!)

And while I think for the most part you might be correct, I think one of the primary reasons I prefer the original is that Brotherhood (at least right now) seems so much more...cartoonish or light hearted. Maybe that's just how it is right now, but it really bothered me.

They do have those non-serious segments yeah, but if you knew the overarcing story like me... well yeah.

Just watch it, kay? :-*
