Yeah talk about a "wtf" moment that was. Also notice the church of the wall bit in that episode, and how the members are aligned...hmmm.

Too many mysteries.

For all the other fans of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann: check out the new anime series, Kill La Kill! It's made by the same people who made TTGL! The first episode just aired today and I loved it! :tup

It was... special :lol I enjoyed it however so I'll probably keep watching.

I haven't watched Gurren Lagann yet, is it similar to this?

Really cool show so far. Definitely reminds me of the newer generation Gainax shows. I can't wait to see where this is heading to.

I haven't watched Gurren Lagann yet
Definitely get on that.

I think by the time I got around to Gurren Lagann the show had been so hyped up for me, that it simply couldn't meet my expectations.  :lol till great animation though.

And the Yoko cosplays...  :hat

I watched the pilot for Golden Time. The fact that it takes place at a law school is basically the only reason I'm watching it.

Yeah, I almost always abhor the English dubs. Original Japanese voice overs are the way to go. I do enjoy Bebop, Champloo and now Death Note as dubs though. CB and SC are probably the only ones where I actually enjoy the English over the Japanese voice actors.

Oh and TITAAAAAAAAAAAN:

I've finally finished Cowboy Bebop - it was a masterpiece. I started my first episode of Samurai Champloo right on the heels of that, and I'm lovin' it. I may be totally off-base with this, but it really reminds me of Tarantino.

Gurren Lagann is the best post-Evangelion recovery you could get; maybe supplement it with FLCL.

Good, but the only way to complete it would to have the best girl, Sasha, coupled with a potato.

Do you guys read the manga? Not to spoil anything but that last chapter was pretty epic. I can't wait for that second season! :caffeine:

Yep, yep; I love the manga. And yes, it was a truly epic chapter. Things are starting to move forward! S2 is going to be absolutely fantastic if they keep up the pacing and almost-no filler status along with the gorgeous animations.

I dunno how I feel about the manga lately. They are diving too hard into Shonen territory.

All I'm watching this season is Hunter x Hunter, Blazblue, and Little Busters! Refrain. A friend recommended Kill la Kill, but is anyone watching anything else this season?

I'm watching Kill la Kill. It's awesome, but don't expect deep characters and story.

Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo were awesome. They definitely restored my faith in action-based series. Currently watching Golden Time, but the manga is much, much better.

Mid-season review of Golden Time: https://hoppedonpop.com/2013/11/12/short-but-sweet-4/

tl;dr: Read the manga, skip the anime.

So, are there any fans of One Piece or other long running shonen here? I'm really curious.

I personally love One Piece (especially the manga), but I can see why some people don't like it. I'm not expecting lots of responses to this but it would be fun to know if there are other fans. :)

I marathoned it about two years back, and actually quite liked it. Once I reached the end of the desert arc (Alabasta?), I felt I had seen enough though. It wasn't even anything negative, I just felt like I'd had enough. Might get back into it someday down the road.

After finishing Clannad/After Story and a few short series (Watamote and Henneko), I'm watching Steins;Gate now.  The OP is great.  I've been finding a lot of good anime themes recently  :metal
