DT at Summer Sonic 2010
« on: March 14, 2010, 10:00:58 PM »
https://www.summersonic.com/2010/lineup/

Some big festival in Japan.  DT is one of the big-fonted bands along with Jay-Z, Pixies, Smashing Pumpkins, and the Offspring.  Also, they're sharing a stage with Coheed.  I guess this will make up for the lack of Japan dates this tour?

Really hoping for a mash-up of styles, preferably Jay-Z rapping over some parts of The Glass Prison.

Couldn't be much worse than his collab with LP  :mehlin

This is weird. Very weird  :lol

I'm happy for DT nevertheless. This festival's going to give them some BIG exposure in the Japanese market.

Only in fucking Japan.  Hey at least they put DT as a headline.  I would love to see them go on with the Offspring.  I bet JLB could do a great cover of a song off Smash.

While being in Japan, they are recording a song for the soundtrack of a Japanese anime, a'la Raw Dog.

Link please.

Edit: That was a dirty trick. I didn't notice the "2011" part and Spiral Architect seemed way too specific to be a joke reference. Shame on you.

Wow, first they get to tour with Maiden, now Jay-Z!
Maybe they could have him come out and help with a couple of the sound bytes in TTT.  :lol

It kinda sucks that they are coming to Japan for this crappy festival instead of playing a regular show here this time.  I will be out of Japan visiting the US while they come for this thing anyway so I can't go, but having to cough up festival price tickets just to see only one good band would suck.  Good thing I will be getting back to the US one day before they play in Chicago with Maiden!   :tup

also, glad to see how big their name is on that list.

Maybe they will come back again for Loud Park (Japan's GOOD music festival) in October

Yeah, I think it's pretty cool to see their name up their with the biggest of them too.
I also agree with the people that aren't too thrilled about them playing the festivals, but on the other hand, I don't think it will cost them as much to go out there and tour this way versus footing the bill for a headlining tour, so I think it's really cool that they're getting included in things like this.
