I was listening to the XM radio and I turned to channel 46 or something and saw it was Iron Maiden... All I head was "You're gonna die, You're gonna die, You're gonna die, You're gonna die" I then turned it off.

Good call, most bands can be easily judged by 10 seconds of one song.

I mean, especially lyrically, that song is most likely about just telling us that we're all going to die and go to hell, probably most of their catalog is about the same thing.

Overture 192
Beyond This Life(cut out the instrumental part a bit to make it around 8 minutes)
As I Am
Caught in a Web
Burning My Soul
Just Let Me Breathe
Pull Me Under

I think that'd be around 50 minutes. I don't think longer songs will be attractive for the Maiden fans, so I just chose some of the most simple and metal songs from DT.

Iron Maiden have some pretty long songs as well you know...and concept albums

Some of you guys are talking about them like they're some dumb-ass band, they're legends of the genre and basically rule

Yeah, if nothing else you have to at least respect that Maiden are to traditional/melodic metal what Dream Theater are to Progressive Metal.

Not to mention that Maiden was one of the first bands to start incorporating '70s progressive rock elements into their metal sound.

I think people are referring to a big part of their audience, which isn't progressive, but more metal.

Well obviously I have no idea for sure, but I suspect that they will use the same master setlist used for this main BCSL tour. It makes sense, because with Transatlantic commitments, and solo albums, it might be difficult for the band to rehearse more songs extensively. I'm not saying they won't add one, or maybe two different ones, but I think 4 is pushing it.

It wouldn't really be a warm-up for the Evening With tour, because I think there will be a considerable break after the Maiden tour, either for a new album, or other projects.
Sounds pretty reasonable. Thanks for the insight.

I hope they drop ARoP and ANTR considering they played it at every show for PN (except for cities they didn't play at PN, of course)

Honestly, I think both of those and Wither will be in rotation and that they will likely play Wither + one of those at every show.  I would bet The Mirror, Lie, Pull Me Under, Metropolis will also probably be in heavy rotation.  If they do not play Wither at a given show, TSCO or IWBY will probably be their "softer" song.  Wouldn't surprise me if they brought back one of the heavier movements from SDOIT a well (WIMH or TTTSTA).  Honestly, I think they'll probably recycle a lot of stuff from PN and just play mostly (but not entirely) heavy material.  But think shorter (for DT, anyway).  Songs like Metropolis and Home are probably the longest songs we'll see.  Things like ACOS, Octavarium, and ACOS will likely not make the cut--just too long for such a short set.

Bosk..there's no way IWBY will be played..and I wouldn't expect Wither to be in heavy rotation at all. I'd be surprised if it was played, but if it is, it will only be played in a repeated city.

But if they love Maiden they're not going to be totally closed off and hostile to the idea of progressive elements which is what people seem to be suggesting. Sure they're metal first and foremost but I'm sure plenty of Dream Theater fans are as well!

A Rite of Passage
The Mirror
Lie
Take The Time
Panic Attack
Forsaken
In The Name of God

58:17

A setlist based around the songs they have played this world tour so far, I agree on that they surely are not going to add more songs to the setlistvaritations then they already have, but who knows, maybe they'll suprise us.

Because these sets will in some way be tailored to Maiden's audience. They haven't been playing IWBY on this tour, so I doubt it will be added to the Maiden tour list. And if they play Wither, it will only be played in cities that got DT last year, in place of AROP.

It was played 82 times this tour.  And I think it is very realistic to assume they will have one "mellow" song in their set.  IWBY and Wither are ideal candidates since they are mellow, short (which is a necessity since they are only doing 50 minutes), have been played recently, and were as close to "singles" as you can get for DT.  Obviously, we're all just guessing here, but I honestly would be surprised if those two songs were not in the rotation.
