DT playlist for running

Lets say I need 45 minutes of music.  Post the list that would keep you going.

Our job was to select someone to speak for everybody. And I just couldn't in good conscience vote for a person who doesn't believe in God. Someone who honestly thinks the other ninety five percent of us suffer from some form of mass delusion.

Surprisingly I'd have a lot of SC and ToT on there, even though they're two of my least favourite albums. I'd go with As I Am, Constant Motion, maybe Glass Prison, and some Pull Me Under for good measure. Tool are my favourite band for running music though.

Constant Motion
Panic Attack
In The Name of God OR Lines in the Sand EDIT: OR The Glass Prison
Take the Time
Under A Glass Moon
Caught in a Web

That should be around 45 minutes.

My running play list has VERY little DT.

I think Constant Motion, Panick Attack and the likes are on there, but the rest are pretty boring to run to.

As I Am (with or without the SDOIT-chord intro)
This Dying Soul
Constant Motion
Panic Attack
Honor Thy Father

That's about 44-45 minutes right there.

You would also do the whole Twelve-Step suite, which would run about 55 minutes.

If you like epics, I'd suggest:
In The Presence Of Enemies (Part 1)
In The Name Of God
Lines In The Sand
Metropolis Pt. 1

ANTR
Jesus Christ himself* comes down amidst a choir of 2 billion angels singing Handel's Hallelujah chorus. As KrotchRaut shred randomly on guitars made of dragon bones using picks made from God's kidney stones, Jesus heals a blind woman who promptly gives birth onstage to a creation of pure light.

*Yes, Jesus Christ himself. Nothing less will do.

Constant Motion

The Dark Eternal Night
Root of All Evil
Prophets of War
Solitary Shell
Honor Thy Father
Finally Free

No clue how long that would be, but I enjoy all those songs while running.

I also air drum while I'm running, which gets interesting with certain Portnoy parts. People must think I'm crazy.

Air-drumming while running? At least the arm-movement adds more to the workout!  :lol

Also, your list is about 70 minutes long! Great list, though! Was it coincidence that most of those are MP-penned lyrics?

Count of Tuscany is a staple in my cardio playlist. When you're running and the middle section comes in, it's EPIC, like you're in a movie scene and you're running to save the world.

Plus the song goes so quickly, you hardly notice that you're 20 min into your workout.

Wouldn't it be hard to run to DT? I mean, wouldn't the constantly shifting time changes fuck up the running rhythm?

Exactly. You need something simple, like AC/DC.  :)

That being the case, you could just run to "I Walk Beside You" x 9... except, it'd be "I Run Beside You" in that case...

Are there any other DT songs with one constant time signature one that would be good for running? (Meaning a slow ballad wouldn't be appropriate, like "The Silent Man" or "Vacant" or "Hollow Years" or "Anna Lee"...something with ENERGY).

Surrounded, Lifting Shadows, and One Last Time are must. Others aren't that important as of now.

AC/DC is a good band to run to. DT does get kind of tricky, but I'm horrible at keeping a steady pace anyway.

Overture 1928 and Strange Deja Vu were really helpful to me yesterday going up a hill. :metal
