When I took the hat off my head, I lifted it by the fuzz ball. The fuzz ball remained in my hand as the hat fell to the floor, broken.

It wasn't intentional, but the shocked look on everyone's face was, well, one of those things for which you just had to be there.

I'm pretty sure that ZGF was in eyesight of it. Also, I think SASR and antipop were right there, as well, since I borrowed the hat from them to get that second pic taken. rumby might have been there as well; I know I spoke (and drank) with him there that day.

Hmm... I should have taken pictures. I found one hysterical huge vintage polka dot top hat that is sort of collapsible. That was $26, I think.

So I have to pass that vintage clothing shop again after work today. If you guys want I can take some pics of hats and post them here and see what people like (I might have to ask permission because they don't normally allow photos in the shop)... and then Sigz and anyone else who is willing could put in a few bucks for it. If people really love a particular hat spending a little extra money will be okay, but if everyone thinks the hats are so-so then I can look elsewhere. We need to get on this shit!!
