Devastating news. One of my favorite directors. Dawn of the Dead is my favorite movie of all time.

Damn shame. Not only am I quite fond of Dawn, the man really wrote the book on zombies. A helluva lot of movies that followed owe their existence to him.

He was also one of my favorite directors. Day of the dead is my personal favorite of the original dead trilogy.

I have forever wanted to dive into his Filmography, but never got around to it! This could be as good time as any.

At 77 years old this shouldn't really come as a surprise, but it's still very sad news. RIP George.

The whole horror movie genre wouldn't be the same without him, the filmmakers and films that cite him or his movies as inspiration and influence must be countless.
