Title: I wish I could... But I'd have to give up....

Supposing you could acquire a *musical* skill overnight but you'd have to give up a skill you already have.

Which would you choose ?

Personally - i'd LOVE to be an amazing singer and If I had to choose to lose the ability to play guitar or drums I wouldn't be able to choose.

I could live with never being able to record / produce any more music as i've done so much music.

But I haven't played drums in many years now so that.

If I don't break everything down, it shows (nothing is really intuitive with me). Nothing really comes instinctively either, which means I can't really sing and play at the same time.

I played with a bunch of really good musicians in Philly, and some of these guys talked musical theory like it was street slang. I can remember the saxes playing a run, and one of them stopped and said to us (the banjos/guitars), "play this chord: (and he rattled off four notes)". He just knew this shit like it was writing his name. I would love to have that vocabulary, but I don't know what I'd give up to get it.

I'd give up all my theory knowledge if I was an amazing singer.

My voice is terrible. I get tired after singing one song and my jaw goes all stiff and my voice goes all crack-y.

It's so annoying but meh.
