So this is an idea I had been playing with for some time but today wanted to to try tackle it: make a
Plug.dj room for us DTFers. Since there's quite a wide variety of tastes around here I think it'd be quite fun:

For those not familiar with it, Plug is was a chat site with rooms in which we play music via Youtube videos and have fun. Anybody can join the DJ Waiting list and put on a track they like, making a playlist first so the first song from it will be the one played when your turn comes. You can also grab some tunes you like and save them on another playlist so you can check them later. It's really a great site for discovering music, I love it.
I think we can also plan some sessions there on specific days just for fun, if you fancy. I'll be there for a few hours jamming some tunes if anybody wants to join me.
2023 EDIT: Well, seems Plug is dead yet again, so I'll be trying out some options these days and see how we can somehow get the gang back into some shared music listening sessions. Any ideas are welcomed.

I guess you're thinking of tinychat, which we used for the Ayreon discography discussion. It's a pretty similar website but doesn't have a properly organized queue like this one does. I don't know about the others but I personally prefer plug.

Maybe I missed something, but don't you have to manually keep putting yourself in queue in order to DJ? How can you "leave it on" and keep joining the queue?

It's automatic - once you finish playing your song, you're put at the bottom of the queue.

If you used the same language on these forums as you did in that chat just now, you would be banned instantly. I don't know what made you think you could just walk in there and insult basically everything, but like I said in there; 'I'm not even going to try and argue with your flawed reasoning. Enjoy being condescending all you want, but I don't need to take that'. I think that applies to the other DTF-members in there currently as well.

Lol I got a temp-ban for spamming the servers by continuously playing You Suffer on loop. Apparently the ban only lasted for 5 minutes, so it was worth it!

Perhaps The Grand Conjuration's length allowed Scar to avoid the server giving out a temp ban; too much time between each repeat of the song for it to register as spam. They probably didn't have 10+ minute songs in mind when they designed this website. :lol

Yeah I figured. First of all there were always songs by other users played inbetween the TGC's, and I played You Suffer 34 times in like 2 minutes :lol so I can imagine that it has some effect on the servers

I've managed to craft my EP over the last few hours and I'm pretty chuffed with it. Don't think the flow will quite score top marks but it's pretty good. I'm happy with the selection of songs though.

I've still yet to listen to the EP you sent home, although it's in my inbox waiting. Not sure I'd consider Stenian a 10/10 but it's pretty good and I do love The Ocean. Also, I know you love Intronaut and I'm getting round to listening to them properly, grade A stuff.
For the record, the Ocean and Intronaut are perfect examples of that progressive/sludgy kinda metal that I love. I know they have been roulette staples of yours (even though you didn't send either in mine :lol) but they are both looking to become favourites of mine so :tup

I made a Discord server almost exclusively for this a few years ago. We did a few listening parties, but it fizzled out after that. Discord isn't really set up well for that unfortunately.
That Turntable.fm looks kind of promising though.

Yea, it looks like a real viable option. I was able to queue stuff up easy enough, but you have to create a playlist and add songs to it before it'll let you DJ I think. Also had an issue (that I think we had on Plug.dj) with certain videos not working. Either way it could be good, just need to work out how we rotate DJs, as Tim and I weren't able to figure it out.
Also, how we create our own DTF Room. Progress though, let's get a few more of us in next time.
