Title: The Musketeers (BBC)
Post by: ariich on March 21, 2015, 05:21:00 AM
Anyone else watch this show? It's a BBC One show but I believe it's shown on BBC America and in Oz and NZ as well.

It's sooooooo good. When it first started I thought it was going to be a bit of a family show, like other weekend BBC shows like Doctor Who, Merlin and Atlantis. But pleasingly it's a grown up show (though mostly suitable for kids I would say - no explicit gore or anything, no swearing). Quite mature storylines and really excellent characterisation. I also like the fact that they've kept it as a fairly sensible historical drama, rather than introducing any sort of whimsical or fantasy elements which I think would often be the temptation with this sort of thing.

Anyway we're just getting to the end of season 2 now, and it's just been consistently great all the way through in my opinion. Really excited about next week's finale!

I have lots more I could say but want to see if anyone else even watches it first. :P

I always intended to watch it, but never got started on it.

I need to catch up.

I would definitely recommend it. Certainly give the first few episodes a try - if you like those then I think you'll continue liking the show!
