This could be very good, or it could be very bad. I don't know what to think. TP seems like something that succeeded because of the time in which is was released (like a lot of successful art). There was nothing like it when it debuted, and it hit people pretty hard. 25 years later, TV serials/dramas have taken huge strides, so it is hard to say how TP will be received now.
People use the word 'Revolutionary' way too often, but it is an apt description for the pilot and the first season.

I swear I've gotten through 10mins of S01E01 like, 5 times. It's really hard to get into for some reason. Which is weird because I dig Lynch, what a weird cunt.

I started the show a while back and wasn't utterly blown away and had shows to watch that did blow me away so I kind of left this by the wayside. But this being a real thing that's happening soon has me excited to start up again now that I'm in a dry spell of shows. I'll see if I can get into it, it's certainly intriguing and is right up my ally in concept.

WOW!! This was one of my favs. EVER! I hope they can create the new season as masterful as the originals. The appeal of the original was how.....well...."original" it was as there was nothing like it at the time, so they will lose that value with the new season, but I'm EXCITED! :o

Considering David Lynch will direct all chapters, I'm both excited (Fire Walk with Me was excellent) and a little scared, considering how abstract his recent work has been. I think this new season will probably be closer in tone to the movie than the one of the original series.

Dang, first Miguel Ferrer (Albert Rosenfeld) passes, and now Warren Frost (Doc Hayward). Both of whom were listed as being in the upcoming series.

Don't have Showtime, but hopefully can find a way to watch these. Most of my interest is out of nostalgia, as I was a huge fan during its initial run. Though I have been tepid about revisiting this world, as TP was a bit of a lightning in a bottle situation, and trying to recreate that magic rarely succeeds.

Oh it definitely doesn't try to imitate the original run at all, this is something new and very Lynchian. I'm really glad it's not a cheap nostalgia cash-in but rather a complex mindfucking piece.
BTW part 4 is my favorite so far, laughed a lot :lol But damn, that scene with Bobby, right in the feels :'(

This is amazing so far. I can see it getting a mixed reception though. At least so far, it doesn't have the same feeling as it had in the 90s. This is very much a combination of everything Lynch has done so far in his career. Eraserhead, Mulholland Drive, Inland Empire, and of course Twin Peaks. Definitely closer to Fire Walk With Me than the show so far.

Yes, I've enjoyed these first 4 episodes too. As stated above, I am so glad that it's not just rehashing the TV show, which was one of the most unique shows written an filmed to that time, IMO. I do like how they are mixing the show and the movie into this new series while moving down another road(I guess). You never know with him. Can't wait to see where this is going! :tup

Hard to pick a favorite so far since I've enjoyed all 4 episodes. Visually there has been some incredible stuff. Beginning of ep3 with Cooper on the balcony looking out over the sea, then what follows with the disfigured woman and Major Briggs massive head floating through space, all of that was great.

Im 3 episodes in and I like it so far. Really my only complaint is the lack of music. Its nice that we get the original theme but then it's followed by a lot of silence which in my opinion is kind of a tease lol.

Yeah, these first few episodes feel like a blend of Eraserhead and Mulholland Drive especially. Hell, that creature in the glass box even looks eerily similar to the baby in Eraserhead, albeit all grown up.
Personally, I'm in love with it all so far. David Lynch is my favorite director of all time and probably my biggest influence as an amateur filmmaker myself, so it's wonderful to see that I'm essentially getting an 18 hour long film of pure heroin-level David Lynch. :lol

I watched episode 4 ant its my favorite so far. I was both surprised and delighted when I saw bobbys current occupation also we got a bit more of the twin peaks soundtrack which I wanted lol.
I just hope Showtime releases extra episodes every week because if they dont I'll have a while to wait before part 5.

Definitely watch the original first, since the new season is a direct continuation of the plot of the original but 25 years later.

Check the twin peaks subreddit, there's a list with how to watch it depending in your country. Maybe you can get a free trial in some services. Or if you already have Netflix, you can use a VPN that sets your computer as if it was in Latin America and watch it there, we have the four parts with original audio and also English subs.

It's not a series you can get away without watching everything, JUST DO IT, it only takes about a week to catch up :tup

Would give you more context to the dark (and very "polarizing") style of the new series

I love TP but most of part 8 was annoying to me as the scenes like the bomb and after just dragged too long with horrible ummmmmm.....sounds.?.? I'm not a big NiN fan either. I'm really digging the new eps. but this one was just not for me.
