How is this not the same as every other Halo game?
I can't tell if this is a troll post or not, but they've made a ton of noticeable improvements across the board. The campaign will be cool, for sure, but it's the multiplayer minutiae that really has me interested. They completely re-vamped their map editor/creator and it's really robust now.
Bungie kind of dropped the ball with Halo 3; this looks like a step up in every way.

Very cool project, releasing a Halo game for the 2600. Would definitely try to get my hands on it if I was still an active Atari enthusiast. You know, I always feel a little sad when I think about all the unusual 2600/Jaguar/Lynx carts I sold before going to grad school. I had a number of nicely done releases from after the systems were commercially dead.

Anyways, on the map I took out all the stupid grav lifts, banshees, hornets, and other stuff that Quinn added for lolz. Then I got bored and built an awesome fortress type thing off in the distance. It has no use in the actual game, but it looks awesome.

Funny thing, I was playing Halo 2 online in team doubles and the other team was just sitting on Lockout in the middle of the map, crouching. I went up to them with the energy sword, and just for fun I didn't immediately kill them. When I got close enough to hear what they were saying I heard: "Keep crouching, you turn invisible when you crouch and you won't be on their radar" in an Asian voice. I lol'd, then proceeded to kill them.
Disappearing off the radars is one thing, becoming invisible... and in the middle of the map? Is another. :facepalm:

As I was saying last night, 98% of people on that forum are completely ignorant or retarded. Reach will be the best thing to happen to Halo since Halo CE and I have no idea why they don't know that. The idea of creating maps from scratch will do wonders for MLG.
Also, isn't 343 Studios supposed to make the next Halo game? Since they are comprised of ex-Bungie employees who worked on HCE and H2, the direction the series will go in looks fairly promising, even though it's out of Bungie's hands. (at least I hope)

The sad thing is, it really used to be a nice community. Not nearly as nice as DTF, but it was good. This was back when I joined there in late 07, of course. It really all went downhill starting in 09, and when CursedLemon was banned, it all collapsed.

Anyone have an issue with input lag when doing online co-op or firefight? Framerate is fine, looking around with the right stick is fine, but whenever I move with the left stick, jump or shoot, there's a 1 second or so delay. Makes the game unplayable IMO. Makes me wish they used servers for those modes instead of relying on P2P. It was seriously pissing me off last night when I was going through the campaign on Legendary and I always had to sit back to be the spawn guy. >:(

heh, none of that going on last night :lol
It took me and my friend about five hours to go through the game on normal (maybe 5:15, but no more). We didn't get stuck in an area until halfway through the eight mission, and even that was only for five minutes. It definitely felt very easy on normal. I never found myself needing to use an armor ability other than sprint (except for the part where you *need* a jetpack), which was a bit of a letdown (but also probably a function of the lack of difficulty). We both thought the part where you're operating the transport turret went on for way too long, and got old pretty quickly. It also felt a bit clumsy at times. We also thought having to run to the MAC gun at the very end was a bit anticlimactic as a way to basically end the campaign. We thought a continuous last stand on the platform with hordes of enemies and maybe a weapons drop for us partway through would have been much more epic. The end game cutscenes as well as the little "Survive" part were a really cool close to the game though :tup

I really enjoyed how on the VERY last part of the game, they show you how spartan's are still mortal beings, not demi-gods such as Master Chief. It really helped make a more dramatic ending.

If you look around on the very last mission, theres dead spartans around. Also 4 hours had passed between the last mission and the "survive" mission, so theres no telling what else couldve happened in those last four hours. Maybe there were more spartans there that helped you in making a stand? DLC opportunity...?

I'm almost Cpt.Grd 3 but haven't been on for a while (been playing alot of Forza 3 the past couple of days for some reason), almost all my friends are Lt.Col Grd3 - i feel left out :sad: . At least one has enough Credits to skip a couple ranks when the cap is lifted too.
